THIS IS THE 2nd YEAR OF THE FABLED R1 IN PRETTY RARE LIVERY & BEING THE 1st GENERATION CARB MODEL IS THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER. VERY RARE TO FIND A SPORTS BIKE WITH SUCH LOW OWNERS & IN FACT THE 2nd OWNER HAD IT FROM WHEN THE BIKE WAS JUST TWO & A HALF YEARS OLD IN 2002 SO ALMOST A 1 OWNER!
Another uber rare thing is to find an early R1 with all standard factory parts right down to the must have little rear reflector on the uncut mudguard (and original 2 little bolts/nuts) ... together with original exhaust, original brake lines & all original fixings & fasteners in amazing condition (no rust anywhere), KYB decal still on front fork, factory rubber on gear lever. The only non factory part currently on the bike is a double bubble screen but I do have an original to go with it so that makes it 100% standard. It does have a working gear indicator added which I have left as actually quite useful but easily removed if required. It even has the pillion seat cowl which is another part that is extremely rare (and expensive if you can find one). So all in all a great example for the purists of these now highly collectible, incredibly rapid superbikes the likes of which are getting harder & harder to find like this.
I have 2 keys (with original metal coded tag), every old MOT (never even had an advisory in its life), old original V5's, tool kit, service book with only 1 entry done on 10,735 miles by RJS Superbike Performance Centre with invoice on file, clear HPI report confirming all good with an MOT history (current one runs out March 2027) also confirming it's never had a single advisory yet alone a fail.
Overall condition of the bike is excellent with very minimum signs of its age commensurate with being 27 years old with such things as the frame, engine & seats backing up the low mileage & it has just undergone a thorough fairings off (see pictures & how good it is behind) detailing by me (would cost a few hundred quid on its own!), tyres are excellent & are dated 2021, chain & sprockets are also excellent (again see pictures) & she starts on the button & has no error codes - I have been on a test ride today to take photos, all good, gearbox slick, brakes great, feels tight ... I love an R1!!!
